Cypress, Texas is one of the Houston area’s largest suburbs, located Northwest along Highway 290. Cypress real estate can be divided into two sections. North Cypress, which is heavily wooded, is located northeast of Highway 290 and FM 1960. South Cypress is located Southwest of Highway 290 and is predominantly former prairie land. Schools
Cypress schools are located within the Cy-Fair Independent School District. Eight of the district’s high schools have received gold, silver, or bronze medals in the U.S News Best High School rankings. Cy-Fair High School has one of the largest Key Clubs in the state of Texas; which is composed of the leading business and professional people of the community allowing high school students an opportunity to learn leadership through a service organization. Cy-Fair ISD is experiencing fast growth in the district due to the growing number of homes and communities being developed in the area. Dining and Shopping
Cypress has a variety of upscale boutiques along the 290 corridor. The main shopping attraction for Cypress residents is the Houston Premium Outlet mall located off 290 and the Grand Parkway. This outdoor mall contains 145 outlet stores featuring an assortment of brands ranging from Tory Burch to Under Armor.
The dining options in Cypress are ever growing. Cypress’ current collection of restaurants is extremely diverse. Entertainment
Entertainment in Cypress can be conveniently found within minutes. If you’re looking for traditional leisure you can’t miss Cypress’ massive Cinemark Theatre. The Berry Center is located off Barker Cypress and West Rd; it hosts many non-district events, such as, concerts and performances. The highly anticipated Home and Garden Show is always a hit, as well as the Shop Till You Drop event, hosted by the Cy Fair Women’s Club.
Many of Cypress’ subdivisions host their own events such as, community Easter egg hunts at Cypress Creek Lakes or the highly anticipated Bridgeland Nature Fest.
Parks and Recreation
Most of the communities in Cypress have their own parks and community pools for residents. There are also many public parks scattered through out Cypress, such as, Telge Park. This large wooded park has many trails for hiking including some that wind down to the creek, in addition to, open spaces and playground equipment. Little Cypress Creek Preserve is a 58-acre property located off Telge Rd and Spring Cypress Rd designed for recreational hiking use, jogging, biking and horseback riding.
Commute
A convenient location for commuters going into Houston. The Energy Corridor is just 15 miles in, 20 miles to the Exxon Mobil campus, the Uptown/Galleria area is 25 miles, and downtown Houston is 30 miles away.
