A major lure for current and prospective residents to the Katy area has always been the Katy Independent School District, rated as ‘Recognized’ by the Texas Education Agency. Just recently Katy ISD celebrated the groundbreaking of Junior High #15 and High School #8. Slated to open in the fall of 2017, these campuses are just two of the six new schools that are scheduled to be built due to the increase in development resulting in new residents in the Katy area.
